I tried my cable, it did not detect as specified to be HEX or Ross tech, it just came up with KKL Usb interface and installed two drivers including a com port driver.Īt first i could not get vag-com to detect anything, it kept on saying Interface not found, the help document said that you must open the com port driver and set it to an available com port, that was done already and set to COM9 which vag com does not have an option for, so i set it to COM2, funny i understand now that VAG-COM cannot use this cable through USB, it can only use it through the com port which the driver then redirects to the USB, so then i started VAG-COM and it could see the interface as a "Serial pass through", connected it to the car with just the key turned on, i could connect and access some modules like engine, could check fault codes "there were none", but could not access many of the controllers.įinally whenever the car is running i cannot get it to work at all and keep getting the error Unknown Protocol 9C9C. Steps I have tried are Downloaded VCDS 20.4.
